God has stirred up my life lately.
He’s cleaned house, tested my endurance, challenged my patience and encouraged me to trust Him more than ever before.
You, too?
I’ve walked this road long enough to realize something is shifting in my atmosphere.
It’s usually a sign that a Divine promotion is around the corner.
So when I was invited to join the speaking and writing team for LeadHer and the leadership team at Moms Together, the life storms over the past 18 months began to make sense.
God knew that for me to step into these new stream of ministry, I needed a few more tools in my toolbox.
These new tools help me relate to and encourage women on a deeper level.
While walking through those storms, it can be painful, exhausting and discouraging.
But on the other side… when God decides to use these tools to help others… I am so very grateful for them.
You know what, sister?
You have a toolbox, too.
You have life experiences that make you relatable. There are situations and struggles in which you’ve had a front row seat.
Sisters, God wants you to use them to strengthen others.
But to do that, you have to step out of that comfort zone and be willing to share them.
You have to be authentic and real to your family, friends and sometimes even strangers.
You have to be willing to reveal your heart, your pain, and your victory.
You see, your transparency will help women navigate those uncharted waters to freedom.
Take some time today to think through the challenges you have faced.
- Health issues?
- Marriage struggles?
- Financial stresses?
- Infertility?
- Loss of a loved one?
- Infidelity?
- Paralyzing fear?
- Low self-esteem?
- Special needs child?
Friends, those are your tools.
I often tell God, “Oh please don’t let all my struggles be for naught! Let my pain be someone else’s gain!”
So the question is…
Will you use your life experiences (your tools) to further the Kingdom or will you keep them hidden away?
The choice is yours.

Absolutely!!! My toolbox is overflowing with tools that I hope and pray God will use for His Glory!! There have been times in my journey over the last 2 1/2 years where I have been so frustrated, sometimes throwing my hands up in the air and yelling at God, “Don’t you see this? Don’t you see what we are going through?”… but each time He would calm me down and assure me that it would be okay! Each time it seemed it couldn’t get any worse… it did, but He was always there to carry me and strengthen me. We never like the pain during it, but I wouldn’t trade this “journey” for anything! I can look back over the last few years and see the “necessity” and the “why” of sooo much that God allowed! I am still waiting for many answered prayers, but I believe God is now opening doors and allowing my pain to be used to help others. Thank you so much for this reminder that a “full toolbox” can be a blessing if we open it up and let God use it to further His kingdom!! 🙂

Thank you so much for this reminder. The other evening I was writing a time line of my life events…ummmm…yah, when looking at my “tools” I was like, wow–look at you now! I am unsure how God will use the tools (experiences) He has allowed in my life, but I do know that He has a plan. Thanks for sharing such a great “object” lesson! May all our tools be used to share His love and name.
