“The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.” (Luke 2:20)
The shepherds found Jesus and they realized that the Angel’s words to them were true! “A Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11) They were glorifying and praising God because their Savior was born! They had seen the face of God and they were forever changed. The God of the universe came as a baby to save them…and to save us.
God came in human form to live with us, to connect with us and to ultimately save us from ourselves.
Dear Jesus, open our hearts to see you as you are. You are the God of all creation who came as a baby to save us. We give you glory and honor. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Family Activity:
Find a candlelight Christmas Eve service and attend with your family. If your church doesn’t have a service by candlelight, look in the papers and call around to churches in your area. Many churches do this each year. If you can’t find one, have a candle light service at home! Light as many candles as you can find and sing some Christmas Carols as a family. Don’t forget to read the Christmas Story from the bible together in Matthew Chapter 1 and Luke Chapter 2.
