It’s Tuesday again! You can find me blogging over at CWAHM where I’m discussing something that is so important for us to help instill in our kids. Isn’t there always something?
Well… parenthood ain’t for sissy’s, that is for sure!
- It requires us to be very strategic.
- We have to bring our A-game all the time.
- There isn’t room for chance.
- No one else can effectively do it for us.
- God chose us for this role.
And as hard as it is at times, I can’t imagine my life without those two little critters. They make me a better person. They give me a chance to perfect my ability to love. They help heal me.
I deeply adore them, and because of that… I want to set them up for success. I bet you do, too.
Of all the things we need to instill in our children (and the list is long), one of the most important is a strong sense of God-centered value. It’s crucial because it is the starting place for all of their decisions and choices.
As parents, it’s so important that we teach them who they are and whose they are. Why? Because the world is also interested in helping to establish their self-worth… and that never ends well. Agreed?
Look, we cannot stand by and hope for the best. We must be deliberate and intentional and strategic in our parenting.
For the past several weeks, we’ve been talking about the importance of:
- Praying over your kids
- Praying in battle for your kids
- Teaching your kids to pray
Don’t let up! All of those will help instill a God-centered value. But I’ve got some additional ideas on things we can do to help grow that healthy value system in our kids.

Oh, and if you have some suggestions to add… please share them with us!
