Life Is Good

Life is Good. I see this message everywhere.

For the past few months, these three words have been bolded and underlined and in all CAPS.  Well, not literally… but I know that God is making sure I see this phrase.

He often speaks to me with consistent, persistent messages like this.  I’ve learned to take note when something keeps being repeated in my world.

I’m not yet sure exactly why those words are important for me to chew on, but each time I see them I let God know the message landed.  I’ve seen them on:

• T-shirts and hats
• Bumper stickers
• Water bottles
• TV commercials
• Printed material

Because He wants that message to register in my brain, God strategically places that small, yet powerful phrase in my path regularly. 

Honestly, it’s not a hard sell.  I do believe that life IS good.  And for the most part, even when I am struggling with life, I know that to be true.  If I do think otherwise, it’s a fleeting thought.

So I wonder the reason for the persistent messages?  God will reveal in His timing…

Does God tend to talk to you in the same way?  Do you see something or hear something that stands out more than usual?  Is God trying to get your attention?

I guess the bigger question is… are you listening?

Part of the problem is that when we wake up, we hit the ground running.

• We have to get ready for work, get the kids ready for school – or both.
• By the time noon hits, our to-do lists have grown to an unmanageable size.
• We have bills to pay and messages to return.
• Last minute things pop up hourly.
• We have to hire help (like maid and lawn services) so we can just get our “stuff” done.

Yes, we are busy.  And you know what…

The Enemy loves it.

Why?  Because when we’re busy, we’re disconnected.  We are not as concerned about protecting our God-time.  As a matter of fact, it’s usually the first thing to go.  We just don’t have that extra time to spend.  Things must get done.  Sound familiar?

God forgive us…

Listen sweet friends.  God is always speaking to you.  Always.

Don’t buy into the well-crafted lie that you’re too busy for God, or that you’ll try to connect later.  Friends… God is talking to you.

Can you remember the last time you were talking to your husband in the middle of a football game?  You’re talking, but he is not listening.  Or when you ask your kids a question and get no response because they are playing the Wii?

How did it make you feel?   God can relate.

The Creator of the world has something to say to you.  It may be through His Word, in a song, during a sermon, from a friend or any other way He sees fit.

It might even be through a simple 3 word phrase that keeps popping up.

This time… will you listen?
