Selling a house is stressful.
Well, the selling part isn’t… but having to live in your house without looking like you do is another story.
The Scott family has become accustomed to a certain amount of clutter and filth. Did I really just reveal that? Well, it’s the truth. We’d rather spend our time playing than cleaning.
So having to live at this level of clean is… stressful.
Now we aren’t candidates for the reality show Hoarders nor do we need an intervention, we just don’t live this clean on a day-to-day basis.
Well, the stress I’ve been feeling to get the house ready to show and keep the house ready to show has apparently rubbed off on Sam. He’s a sensitive kid and easily absorbs our emotions.
My stress has jumped to him.
Have you seen that in your own family? Do you have a child that is more susceptible to emo-transfers?
At CWAHM today, I am talking about how our stress can stress out our kids and I’m providing practical suggestions to lessen the effects when we know stress might be heading our direction.
My stars, parenting well is so intentional.
You have to be present and aware of what you say… what you do… and what you pass on.
But you know what? God chose you to parent your children for a reason.
And He’s also an intentional parent.
Remember, we don’t have to be perfect parents… just purposeful ones.
I wonder – What emotions might you be passing on to your kids right now?
